What Is The Rated Lifting Capacity?

The crane rated lifting capacity refers to the total weight of the weight or materials allowed to be lifted by the crane together with the separable lifting appliances(for mobile cranes, including the lifting appliances fixed on the crane).

For cranes with variable amplitude, the rated lifting capacity of the crane shall be specified according to the amplitude. Therefore, whether the crane rated lifting capacity is fixed depends on the specific type of crane.

1. The rated lifting capacity of bridge crane can be fixed;

2. The rated lifting capacity of most jib cranes is not a fixed value.

Jib crane have different rated lifting capacity corresponding to different jib lengths and amplitudes (such as tire and truck cranes, crawler cranes, railway cranes). When there is more than one rated lifting capacity, it is usually called the rated lifting capacity as the maximum lifting capacity, or referred to as the lifting capacity.
